As rich as a world can be in writing, the Characters make it worth visiting. Here are some short Bios on my Characters. Basics just to get you interested in their stories. Each and every one of them have their own story whether or not I've written it yet. Some day I may put the time into putting it all to paper or text as the case may be. For now these characters are found in a dispersed collection of short stories I've been writing for almost a decade.

Thavion Winger:

Thavion is damaged goods. He went from a celebrated Child Prodigy his parents bragged about to a hidden away black sheep that they didn't publicly acknowledge. His Child Hood was taken from him because they thought he was crazy. They locked him away in different mental wards as he grew up to try and help him, but all it did was make him reclusive and secretive.

Despite his incarceration Thavion was permitted enough freedom to continue his research to a limited extent. The Child Prodigy that he still was, he kept in contact with a small number of fellows in the fields of Bio Chemistry and Genetics. He couldn't work in a lab, had no real access to the internet or research material but through his limited communication he was able to aid in work that if successful would see his supposed insanity turned reality.

Thavion's work was fruitful but damning as it nearly lead to the death of the only people he cared about, his colleges Xing Yo Kie and Tania Phillips.  Just as that news came to him he was let out of his last prison owing to his age and the fact that his parents had died in a plain crash. The lack of love lost do to his hatred of them for what they'd put him through was cut by the fact he was left not just their estate and assets, but their baby daughter Samantha.

Liquidating everything he'd been left he setup a trust fund for Samantha and put her into foster care. He didn't want to risk taking her with him to China where his colleagues lived, worked and desperately needed his help to survive.

According to records Thavion Vanished after arriving in Hong Kong and travailing to main land China. What happened to him? Well the decades that passed there after could only have been thank's to his actions, a fact that he didn't know as he began a life living alone in the wilderness of Alaska in self exile.  There he was free to be himself there without the fear of being judged for being who he truly was.

Samantha "Sam" Winger:

The second child of Johnathon and Margret Winger, Sam wasn't even a year old when her parents left her with a nanny on a trip to Naples. It was there that her fathers plain crashed killing them both leaving her an orphan. This much she knew growing up, her foster parents had told her that much and no more.

The truth came to light as Sam began digging into the details of her past. She was being used by her foster parents. They had taken her in to get her trust fund and live it up while she was left nothing. With that knowledge and the documentation to back it all up she took them to court and won.

As if to spite her the last thing they said to her was that she wasn't an orphan because her parents died, she was an orphan because her brother didn't want her. No one wanted her. They said that her brother Thavion had handed her to them and left like she was a worthless unwanted object.

With access to her trust fund and a minority stake in the Data Mining company her father had owned she put all of her effort into finding her brother Thavion. She dug and dug until she had nothing but a name and a travel record. He'd flown to Hong Kong and from there gone missing. His reason for going there wasn't clear, nor was his connection to Tania Phillips, Geneticist and head of the Phillips Pharmaceuticals Group. Having hit a dead end in her searching Sam turned to her own life, the thoughts of a long lost older brother that for some reason had left her always in the back of her mind.

Free to do as she wished she turned to her education and started her life a new. Little could she know that her life would be turned over, shattered, put back together then crushed under the weight of emotional distress that honestly having written it made me tear up. Sam's the single most tragic character I've ever written. Despite never knowing him growing up Sam shared in Thavion's nature and more then once she found herself dropping everything she had and leaving behind no trace, unlike him she would actively cover her tracks.

Tania Philips and Xing Yo Kie:

The pair of rich and brilliant Geneticist and strong willed Bio Chemist, Tania first met Yo at a conformance in Zuric Switzerland. It was there that they candled not only their lasting love but a plan along side a small selection of other like minded scientists and researchers. The project needed to be kept a quiet as possible owing to the seemingly endless risks involved as well as the controversy even talking about it could bring lest the active development.

To that end Tania took charge of the project and with her family's Pharmaceuticals company backing the project through a shell company in Hong Kong she setup shop in a retired Chemicals Plant in China. Yo had located the plant and with Tania's backing purchased it from the Chines Government. By re-purposing a former military installation they gained a quick and ready base of operations secluded in the Jungle with electrified fencing.

Despite the Evil Secret Lear setup, the research they worked on would prove to be world changing. Cures for Genetic Defects being the first key selling point used by Tania to secure funding for their work. That was however a side effect of the true goal.

As they worked they took in the research and developments from their colleague's including the hard to reach Theoretical Bio Chemist Thavion Winger. They did not know why he was often out of touch, but bit by bit what they got from him proved to be the key missing link no other researcher seemed able to provide. A way to not only facilitate the rewriting of DNA in a living breathing Human, but a way to force the new DNA into action effectively triggering a rebirth of the subject as what ever alterations made to their DNA effected their body.

The promising test results and simulations left one last trial to be done. Yo offered himself as the first Human test subject. Without taking the proper time to validate the success of the procedure Tania then subjected herself to it. The end result was two seemingly successful tests. Seemingly being the key as withing a month the side effects started to become apparent. The unfinished mixture of unstable Stimulants and Immune Inhibitors began an almost Cancer like process of changes to their bodies pushing some alterations to extremes.

It took almost a year to halt the process with the help of Thavion Winger who in exchange for undergoing the same now fixed procedure saved them and verified that Lin, their daughter who had been born during Tania's ordeal was health and un-effected by the process that had ravaged on in her mother. Having saved his colleagues Thavion left without a goodbye in the night.

Cured, they pair of Tania and Yo worked on for another year before releasing the final product to testing and publicly disclosing their work. From there the pair moved from Yo's compound in China to a specially created research lab in the states so that Tania could oversee the public release while at the same time giving a better environment for their daughter Lin to grow up.

Xing Lin Hon:

Born amidst the ravaging effects of the Yo and Tania's work Lin could be considered a medical miracle. She retained the key physical changes made by the process without inheriting the ongoing effects that threatened her mothers life during her pregnancy. Despite her health Tania and Yo agreed it wan't worth the risk having another child as Lin was conceived just after the process had been preformed and likely acted as a snap shot of them at that time. If a second child was born from the pair after so much more changes had been made it could be far less healthy and as hard as the choice was to make they both knew it was best to be happy with Lin alone.

This choice lead to Lin having no siblings and no friends growing up. Her mother was often too busy to play with her leaving her father to keep her entertained. It wasn't until the move from China to a small college town in Oregon that she made a real friend. Having spotted her in her back yard from his windows, the boy Rich Schultz made some what of a fool of himself at, but the idea of someone wanting to play with her left its mark as from that day forwards they became best friends.

Given the strange nature of Lin's birth and the world around her still changing to accept people like her as normal she was home schooled through high school. Growing up it became clear to her that her parents didn't want to risk being out of their control. This lead to a fight of sorts when she applied for and was accepted to Art School without informing them. If not for Rich stepping in and standing tow to tow with Yo Lin may not have been allowed to go.

The years spent in school exposed her to the gamete of people that her mom and dad had wished to shield her from, but with the help of her dorm mate Jillian "Pearl" Leach and the continued support of Rich she pushed through resulting in her break out opportunity supporting a fashion show in Tokyo as an intern in her final year at the Art Institute. With that as a leaping off point Lin rocketed to fame with her own fashion line.

Richard "Rich" Schultz

As a kid Rich was the constant target for bullies do to his stutter and uncoordinated fumbling caused by early growth spurts. Big for his age his timid nature caused by the constant bullying led him to spend most of his time stuck up in his bedroom reading. It was from there that he saw his new neighbors moving in and their daughter sitting alone on the swing set in their back yard.

Seeing the girl alone and recognizing that she was different and like him would be bullied by the other kids Rich felt drawn to introduce himself. The resulting interaction was comical, painfully so at points but the end result was a friendship that would act as the single drive force of his life.

Playing with Lin helped him grow into his body and conker his stutter so that by the end of High School he was the School Hero that lead the school to championships in Baseball and Football. Despite being drafted out of high school by the Detroit Tigers and receiving scholarship offers for both baseball and football from the top schools in the nation Rich passed on the lot in favor of an academic scholarship to Oregon State. Despite his sports success he was still a book worm and graduated valedictorian with College Credits in Math and Science.

Given how hard Rich had worked doing sports and class work in high school he found himself less tasked for time keeping up only an academic schedule. He was often persuade  by the schools athletic departments to join the teams, but he didn't want to be a professional athlete. Instead he opted to fill his time offering to tooter fellow students.

Graduating Rich was surprised to find Tania gifting both He and Lin houses and startup capital for their work. Lin's Fashion Design and his Network Management Company respectively. She said it wasn't so much a gift as it was an investment in them both she hoped would pay off. This left Rich living and working in a house next door to his best friend, an arraignment he was far from displeased with.

Jillian "Pearl" Leach

Pearl's a break the mold sort. She's a fun loving party girl that clubs like a pro, but behind her looks and love for a good beet to dance to she's also a maven computer programmer and hacker. As a kid she spent more time with her computer then she did anything else, revers engineering game engines and picking apart games to figure out what worked and how she could do things better. By the time she'd graduated High School she'd finished work on her Epoc Engine.

A solid C student she had to use her body of work to get accepted to the Art Institute where she would be roomed up with Lin. It took time but the pair found common ground when it became clear Lin needed help working on 3D  modeling projects. Seeing this as a chance to help one another Pearl offered to train Lin in exchange for input on the game she was developing to demo her Epoc Engine.

It was at that point Pearl and Lin's paths first cross with Samantha Winger. Seeing the way Lin's work had gone from worst to best in such short order Samantha who made it her business to be the best at everything she did took things too far by stealing Lin's work.By the time Pearl realized what had happened Lin had locked herself in their dorm and was under reprimand being accused of stealing Samantha's work.

Taking up Lin's cause Pearl used her skills and back traced Samantha's hack, pulled all the info she needed and took it over the head of the Professor that seemed to be in Samantha's pocket strait to the Dean. The fallout of this left Pearl hollow as instead of getting the satisfaction of seeing Samantha shamed and punished or even expelled for what she'd done the she up and ran, actively wiping any trace of her being at the school and leaving no clue as to where she'd run to.

Pearl would go on to licence her Epoc Engine before coming to work for Lin as a Model. The job gave Pearl globe trotting opportunities to party, something she couldn't pass up on.

Sara Brooks

Sara is Pearl's running mate and Lin's right hand woman. Her business savvy makes her an invaluable asset to Lin as she's often acted as a contract negotiator among other business related tasks. When Lin's unable to work for what ever reason it's Sara that steps up in her place to manage things.

Sara was born and razed in a Pub in the north of England where she acted as a bar maid. Being razed this way lent her several very useful traits that serve her well. The first is her thick skinned tom boy nature. If a patron ever got out of line with her she could do more then scream for her father, she'd floor the offender and kick them out the door on her own. Beneath her tall slender frame she's a master of Jeet Kune Do.

Having been scouted by a modeling agent while working in the pub Sara was against using her looks to get her way at first, but the idea of working in her father's pub forever left her skin crawling. Fate had it that the day she went in for her demo shoot a clothing designer who'd been double booked to shoot at the same time needed a model to cover for one that didn't show up. She effectively jumped the ranks from no buddy to professional model in a day as the designer offered to sign her to a contract on the spot.

Only a month into modeling Sara was asked to Model a dress on the runway in Milan. Seeing what a live walk could do for her up start career she jumped on the chance. The idea that something could go wrong was so far out of her mind as she made her way onto the cat walk. As she stopped to pose she looked around and could feel the eyes of everyone on her, camera flashes going off, left, right and center. The tom boy pub maid had become a sexy model and to her own shock she loved it. Then it all came crashing down as she turned on the spot and snapped a heal sending her crashing off the stage onto a photographer.

Twisted ankle, broken wrist, broken nose and a concision all resulted in her passing out only to wake up in a hospital dazed, confused and terrified. Sara knew laying there in the hospital that her contract was voided. She could heal, but the chances of her going back to modeling even rounded up equated to not. It was then that Lin showed up and offered a simple deal. Lin would cover all the cost of her recovery in exchange for an exclusive contract. From that moment on Sara has worked for and with Lin.

Through working with Lin Sara was introduced to Pearl. Though not close friends are often together when not working for Lin. Pearl's love for clubbing and Sara's pub grown love for a good drink acting the key to their relationship.

Mathew "Mat" Johnson

Mat was born the oldest of seven children. Despite having so many siblings he was never roped into helping raze them as his mom was a very much dedicated to rearing them. Most of the time Mat helped out is pop around the shop. The family business Farm Supply Store was managed by an employee while his pop focused on servicing farm equipment.

The was never a time in his memory that Mat wasn't doing something mechanical. Despite his mom's best efforts to get him away from the shop to play with other kids he found himself most at home half coated in oil wrenching on something. The only exception to this being while he was running or driving as fast as possible in both cases. Safe to say he's a Speed Freak.

With the help of a scholarship for track and field Mat moved south and attended Cal Tech before setting up shop in San Francisco from which he began working on his pet project. From the moment he put foot to peddle he'd been hooked on speed and with every fiber of his being he intended to go way faster. Armed with a degree in electrical engineering and a life time's worth of shot work with his pop he began building his own personal speed machine, an all electric monster he dubbed-500.
